To book your test you will need to:

  1. Make sure you have a form of valid ID passport or national ID card at hand, as you will need to upload a clear photocopy of it when you book your test. Please note that candidates under 18 years of age have to supply written consent by a parent or guardian in order to apply for a test place.

  • IELTS on computer with Writing on Paper (not available for UKVI tests)

Remotely:

  • IELTS Online

If you are taking IELTS in a British Council official centre, you can choose your Speaking test slot when you take IELTS on computer.

Your Listening, Reading and Writing sections of the test will be completed on the same day with no break in between.

Our carefully assorted preparation resources provide you with comprehensive study materials, tips and strategies to help you succeed. Additionally, you will have access to free practice tests to help you assess your progress and familiarise yourself with the test format.

After you have booked your test, we will confirm the following information by email:

  • the start time of your test 
  • where you will take your test
  • your Speaking test date and time
  • your access to IELTS Ready Premium

Your payment will be confirmed within two working days should you choose to make a bank payment, so you can contact us after that period if you have not received a confirmation of payment. Online payments will be confirmed instantly after payment has been made.
