In South Africa, 9 August is Women's Day and the month of August is National Women's Month. Women empowerment is at the core of our engagement globally and within communities, and many of these women continue to lead in their capacity. This is an opportunity for us to celebrate and reflect on women's achievements. Empowering women and girls, and achieving gender equality are crucial to creating inclusive, open and prosperous societies.
