Exam locations

All Private candidates can register to sit for British Council CIE Exams in Johannesburg or Cape Town (written and practical components).  

Please note practical spaces are limited

The venue address will be communicated to all candidates as they receive Statement of Entries. 

Languages offered in May/June 2017

NB: The British Council does not administer exams with coursework.

Language subjects with oral components can only be done in Johannesburg (or Cape Town) depending on availability of Oral Examiners.

Requirements

To apply, you need:

  • A completed the application form below
  • An ID/Passport sized photograph
  • A copy of a South African ID Book/ID Card or a valid Passport; a birth certificate for applicants under the age of 16
  • Proof of payment

Receive your Statement of Entry form

Once you submitted your application and payment, you will receive your Statement of Entry and information about your examination venues approximately three weeks before your exams.

NEED TO AMEND YOUR ENTRY? 

You can make amendments to the entry you have made. Please note that amendments are subject to an additional payment as specified in the information sheet.
